I took this photo during the 500px photowalk last year. Only just got around to going through them all..  This is a 20 image hdr panorama. Quite the effort to create however it really captures the entire scene and has the ability to be printed huuuge :)

Hope you are all doing great, haven't been around for a while, but should be posting a bit more regularly now..

Alien Invasion

Bathurst, NSW, Australia

I recently drove past this location and remembered that I never shared the image I took here. When showing some family they mentioned it looked like an Alien, hence the title. Its often tricky to perfectly center an image, it really bugs me when its out, but fortunately I nailed this one :)

Hope you all are having a cracker week!

Bad Moon Rising - Bathurst, NSW, Australia

Hot off the press… This is the stunning moonrise tonight in amongst some light cloud and trees. This is a shot I have always wanted to do. Its one of my more challenging photos to capture. It was taken at 1200mm and has not been photoshopped at all. Only cropping, brightness/contrast corrections. My Ideal shot of this would be a single dead tree filling the size of the moon, however it was hard enough to find this location. Perhaps one day I will find the elusive shot, it takes a fair bit of planning to be able to pull off.

Anyhoo, hope you like it! one more shot ticked off my checklist  :)

The 8138 - Train outside Molong

Molong, NSW, Australia

One of the many random journeys down dirt roads on my recent travel resulted in this image. I didn't find the Aboriginal Burial site the information sign mentioned, but I did score some very nice timing for this simple but interesting shot. The Train drivers were staring straight at me holding my massive lens and gave me a little toot as they went by.. :)

Hope you all are having a cracking start to 2015!!!

Taronga Western Plains Zoo - Dubbo, NSW, Australia

Three Cheetahs sitting in a group (coalition) when one spotted me. Taken with my Sigma 150-600mm lens at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. I have been dying to try out my lens on something other than birds and kangaroos. What better spot than a trip to the zoo. It was a cracking hot 34 degrees that day, many of the animals were painting in the shade. I was panting too carrying my 13kg kit around. But its shots like this that make it all worth it. Such a beautiful animal and fast to boot. Would love to see one of these guys in full flight one day.
