If it were not for the 2 barbed wire fences, I would be there in a heartbeat. I love the contrast of the beautiful manicured view and the dry long grass. It was so peaceful here. There was no one around except a father and son making their way across the lake in a small rowboat; which you can just make out in this photo. It also turned out to be quite a spectacular sunset.

Hill End, NSW, Australia

Hill End owes its existence to the New South Wales gold rush of the 1850s, and at its peak in the early 1870s it had a population estimated at 8,000 served by two newspapers, five banks, eight churches, and twenty-eight pubs. Its decline when the gold gave out was dramatic: by 1945 the population was 700. At the 2006 census, Hill End had a population of 166 people.

I didn't realise when I had moved into my house that this beautiful fast growing plant was poisonous. I found this out after pruning it heavily many times. Fortunately it's only dangerous when ingested in large quantities. This was one of the first ever shots I took with my canon 6d nearly a year ago. What do you do when you get a new camera but walk around your house taking photos of just about anything! Anyhoo, I don’t do much flower photography, so not even sure if this is good, love to know what you think.
