Celebrating Sydney - Arclight, Vivid Sydney 2015
This was one of the popular displays you could get up close to at Vivid Sydney 2015. This is a 4 minute exposure to enable a nice large depth of field without noise and blur the crowd giving a nice light painted celebration feel. Hope your week is off to a good start! Beautiful Australia - Royal National ParkWhat a beautiful country we live in, and what a spectacular five minutes of light to capture it. A dream shot, capturing this location with waterfalls that flow off a cliff directly in to the ocean at sunset. I knew exactly where I wanted to capture it, how I would capture it, and how I expected it to look. I am pleased to say, I can now see the image from my mind on screen, and now you can see it too! It was an epic walk, one which required much care leaving this location in the dark. With low battery power in my 'torch' I had to ration its use and walked much of the way back by star light only using it when needed for rocky sections and creek crossings. I had a very busy weekend of photography taking over 1000 images. The things I do for my passion. I think this is my new favorite image and likely end up as a massive print on my wall :)
Thanks for reading. It is comprised of over 350 shots taken on a Canon 6D and scaled down in to a massive 4k HD video. There is so much detail to see in this clip, from the vivid projections on the Sydney Opera House, to the lit up boats coming in and out of the Harbour, the plans flying in the background, the massive crowds of people moving around The Rocks. Enjoy watching full screen in HD (looped a few times for your enjoyment). Thanks for checking it out. It took some doing, but is one of my favorite pieces of work. If you appreciated it, please consider throwing some change my way via my Pay Pal virtual Tip Jar :)
Opera House Moonrise
What a delight to see the moon rising over the Sydney Opera House during Vivid 2015. I spent a good 5 hours, and over 20000 steps shooting vivid on the weekend. I had hoped to get there earlier but it was worth making the trip before it finished. Some nice new additions this year. I hope you are not sick of seeing images, because I have a stack.. I will try to break it up a little :) The more things change, the more they stay the same
This old camera is so different from what we have today. But the basis is the same. To me that means simulate the eye to capture the light from a moment in time. For memories, for art, to document. |
