Bathurst a beautiful historyAerial panorama of Bathurst at sunset. I love this shot, it's not often you see Bathurst from this angle and while the focus is Tremain's Mill, there are also some hidden surprises. In the hi-res version, You can read Mount Panorama on the mountain on the very left. You can see the Carillon poking up on the right in the background, also the courthouse. I am getting better at predicting when good sunsets will be, just running out of local locations to capture. If you have ideas, let me know!
A more intimate view of Tremain's Mill, with the silos in the background. This is a sunrise shot, I love the complementary colours with the warm light of the sun on the side of the building and the cool shadows of the mill behind.
Sometimes I find it hard to decide on the way to process an image. This is a black and white version, I figured it suited the historic nature of the building.
Finally, a sepia/creamtone version. I quite like this, really highlights the buildings and their shape rather than being distracted by the colour. I would love to know which is your favorite, leave a comment below. Christmas 2016 sale

It is a massive panorama comprised of 11 images so can be printed as large as you like :) God rays and rainbow in one, gotta love it.
Inland Sea of Sound at Mt Panorama Wahluu
What a cracking venue for the 2016 inland sea of sound festival. It's a great layout up there this year, with plenty to see and do. Was a great turnout in the end too with people having a blast moshing to the Black Sorrows and dancing with the South African Band Medleko Meropa. Head on up for a nice chilled afternoon of beer and wine on the grass. I'm the official photographer up there, so if you see me scooting about be sure to stop me for a quick chat and photo :)
Kate Miller Heidke
What an cracking venue for such an intimate gig with this amazing artist. It took some effort to get this shot just right, I really wanted to capture the 3 elements, the crowd, the artists, and the lights of bathurst in the background. I took this one at a distance on a ladder at 200mm to get some nice compression and bring the 3 elements of the image close together. On top of that f2.8 to let in the most light possible and ISO1600 to get just a short enough exposure so their movement is not too blurred. Oh yeah, and like 50 shots to get just the right moment in time :) I think this is one of my favorite images from the weekend, I feel it really captures magic of the event. |
